What is Oncoknowledge?
Oncoknowledge is a platform that provides ongoing training and support to non-medical oncology specialists that treat resectable, non-advanced tumors to help them provide state-of-the-art treatments within their own practices.
Oncoknowledge also has a team of board certified oncologists and experienced oncology nurses on call, ready to assist these professionals as they treat their patients.
Initially Oncoknowledge focuses on supporting ENT specialists in the treatment of head and neck tumors using injectable immunotherapy drugs. Oncoknowledge will then expand to supporting other specialists including dermatologists and urologists.
How does Oncoknowledge help patients?
An increasing number of non-advanced treatments do not include chemotherapy or the need for an infusion room. Patients can receive immediate, state-of-art care from their non-medical oncologists specialist providers. This allows for a prompt and seamless transition from diagnosis to treatment.
Oncoknowledge helps bridge the gap between the information patients can obtain on their own using online tools about emerging cancer treatments and the actual treatments they can find at their doctors offices. Oncoknowledge accelerates and consolidates physician training.
Oncoknowledge will also help patients more easily identify non-medical oncology specialists trained in non-advanced cancer care.
How does Oncoknowledge help medical professionals?
Membership to Oncoknowledge provides training to non-medical oncologist specialists on the latest non-advanced treatment protocols that can be completed at their offices.
There is no cost to medical professionals. Training is sponsored by the medical professional's employer or drug companies/cancer therapy innovators.
Medical specialists that complete the Oncoknowledge training will receive a certification that will reassure their patients about their competency in dealing with these treatments.
Oncoknowledge will also allow these medical specialists to participate on an online directory where patients can find find them easily.
How does Oncoknowledge help drug companies and other cancer therapy innovators?
Cancer therapy innovators often struggle in informing providers about the availability of new therapies that might benefit patients. Oncoknowledge provides a direct link for pharmaceutical companies to inform non-medical oncology specilists about treatments they can readily perform at their existing practices.
Oncoknowledge provides a centralized channel to broadcast, educate, and support medical specialists about these innovations.
Oncoknowledge is looking for its industry founding sponsor. This founding sponsor will pre-purchase 1,000 memberships that will allow the training and support of 1,000 ENT specialists in the use of injectable immunotherapy drugs in about 24 months.
Case Study
Frank is a 58 yr old father of three who recently discovered a lump on his throat. After a visit to his ENT, he was diagnosed with HPV-related throat cancer. Typically the ENT would refer patients like Frank to a sugeon and radiotherapy. But now he can get immunotherapy, injected with a syringe at the ENT's office as a first line of treatment.
